On August 13th, Misti and Scott celebrated their marriage at the BEST WESTERN PREMIER Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center in downtown Oshkosh. This was my second home for a few years before I made the full-time leap to Witt & Co. Events. I was so honored when Misti contacted me after I announced my wedding coordinator resignation from the hotel. It broke my heart to tell those couples that I was no longer going to be there to help with their weddings. Misti (such a lovely lady) definitely brightened my day.
Engaged on their family's property in Michigan at sunset, Misti and Scott also planned their big day on the anniversary of her parents' wedding. After almost a decade together, it was amazing to see these two tie the knot on such a special day! Misti was an incredibly sweet, organized, and talented bride. She created all of her own centerpieces! We took her glittering black and eggplant design and set up the reception room at the Oshkosh Convention Center. Not to be out-done, Scott created a yellow brick road for a personalized photo opportunity on the river front. Misti has loved the Wizard of Oz since she was young, and it was only appropriate to recreate the movie with their wedding party! Misti even changed into her ruby slippers while everyone grabbed Wizard of Oz props to complete the fun! Below are just a few photos that we were able to capture of Misti and Scott's celebration. Cheers to many more decades together somewhere over the rainbow, Mr. and Mrs. Andersen! Ben & Beth Ann...What an amazing couple!
On August 12th, Ben and Beth Ann were married in a truly special place. The same barn where my husband and I were married two years ago, held 200 of their closest family and friends. A draped fabric altar flanked by ferns atop aged whiskey barrels, surrounded the two of them as they said their "I Do's". We assisted Ben and Beth Ann during their entire weekend celebration. From the rehearsal to the end of the wedding night, we were on-site to lend a helping hand. We assisted the wedding party down the aisle, coordinated the timing of their reception activities, and cleaned up the reception hall at the end of the evening. It was an absolute pleasure to watch this happy couple tie the knot! The dinner tables were set with pure rustic elegance. Floor length navy linens accompanied by antique wooden chairs were embellished with centerpieces of vintage books, candles and delicate glass jars with red and white florals. Each guest's place was set with a bright gold charger, a charming blue and white linen napkin, and a sweet, aromatic sprig of fresh herbs. Michael and Cori from The Tinker Boys created the perfect atmosphere for the wedding ceremony in the barn at Brighton Acres. While, The Rhythm Kings kept the energy up all night in the Hall where even Beth Ann's grandmother graced the dancefloor. As a late night surprise, Broken Tree Pizza, from Neenah, set up shop in the courtyard to create and serve wood-fired pizzas. Can I just say, this was the best pizza experience I've ever had. Hands. Down. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Mr. & Mrs. Engelland. Cheers to celebrating a lifetime of happiness! Thanks to these amazing vendors for contributing to such an amazing day! He has been coming to Wisconsin for the week-long event since the 80's. A pilot himself, he and Alice now share the flight from Washington to Wisconsin's Event City, so it only made sense to incorporate this love of flying into their wedding! They were married right on the EAA grounds in the middle of AirVenture week. Can you imagine saying your vows in front of some of the coolest warplanes in our history!? After the ceremony they boarded a coach bus with their closest friends and family and made their way to Brighton Acres to celebrate with a casual dinner and a night of dancing! Planning from across the country meant they needed a little extra help securing vendors, creating the decor, and tying up all the final details for their reception. Enter Witt & Co! In a matter of weeks, we gathered up their remaining wedding professionals, and finalized their meal and centerpieces. As a nod to their aviation admiration, we used budget-friendly fluffy white clouds of hydrangeas and added airplanes among classes glass votive candles, as well as incorporated their favorite color, blue into several of the decor accents.
