Dylan & Alexis were married on a beautiful, sunny August Friday at
one of our all-time favorite spots, Brighton Acres!
Read on for their wedding day details and some amazing photos from Abigail Miles Photography!
My husband, Matt, and I have known this very special couple for a few years now, and I was honored when they reached out and asked if I would help with their wedding!
Matt and I met Dylan and Alexis through mutual friends, and got to enjoy each other's company for an entire week of Country USA. Needless to say, we could tell they were made for each other! I'm a lot like Alexis. Poised, a little on the reserved side, and definitely the adult in the relationship. While Matt is definitely like Dylan, and both of them (especially together require adult supervision!)
Sorry to say Alexis, we're stuck with them now, aren't we! But it's perfect, because opposites fit so well together!
Dylan was studying and working at a Fire Department, so naturally a few firefighting elements made their way into the wedding to show their respect for the emergency field! Aside from the traditional navy and red colors, their ring bearer carried a firetruck with their rings, their table numbers had a thin red stripe, and their cake knife, was actually a cake axe. So neat!
The couple also incorporated a little bit of Jack Daniel's flair into their table decor.
By recruiting the help of their friend Olivia at Radiant Floral Arrangements, the tables popped with lace runners, red rose petals, assorted bottles of Jack Daniels with fragrant baby's breath!
The ceremony was short and sweet and may have literally clocked in under five minutes, but from their "I Do's" on, it was party time!
During one of their wedding party group photos, the most unfortunately hilarious thing ever, happened.
Best Man, Zo, was standing in the right place, at the wrong time when a bird decided to "drop" by! Good thing Zo has such a great sense of humor (and no hair!)
I'll let the photos tell this story...
Eden Meat Market brought in their smokers and cooked up a delicious feast in the courtyard.
And after dinner, guests helped themselves to mason jar sundaes while Manderfield's Bakery displayed an adorable pair of bride and groom cakes.
Congrats again to you Mr. & Mrs. Hartjes!
You complement each other in every way and my wish for you is that you find happiness in each other's company for the rest of your lives!
